Upcoming Events… Posted on October 8th, 2012 by

Can it already be October?  Well, it can only mean that OLAS is having some pretty cool events this month!  On Monday, October 29th from 6-9 PM, we will be hosting a sugar skull decoration event in IC and at the Community Center in downtown Saint Peter to commemorate Dia de los Muertos, or a holiday that families celebrate to honor their passed loved ones.  You should all come and try it out!  There will be candy, music, and great people.  Also, your skulls will be presented at the Ofrendas, or offerings, service in Chapel on November 1 at 7 PM, along with altars that the 300 level Spanish students are making.  All are welcome, even if you didn’t make a skull.

HEADS UP!!  This month is Hispanic Heritage Month, so check out the posters around campus which tell of the events planned by LALACS, the Spanish Dept, Crossroads, and of  course, your best amigo, OLAS.  Or, click here to find out all of the details.  We hope to see all of you at these events to learn, laugh, and to share this culture.

Hasta luego,

OLAS 🙂
