Felicitaciones! Posted on November 1st, 2012 by

Hello everyone!

Thank you all for coming and making our Dia de los Muertos event a huge success.  We had about 100 students making skulls at IC (we even ran out, it was so popular) and about 100 or more people down at the community center, where children and their parents made skulls, decorated pumpkins, colored, and Language Amiguitos read stories to the kids.  We had such a great turnout for both events and we hope you had a wonderful time decorating skulls, learning about an ancient tradition, and meeting new people.   This event wouldn’t have been the same without you 🙂

As for coming events, today (November 1) from 7-8 PM, there will be a procession for DdeLM, starting outside the caf.  There will be a commemoratory service for those who have died (may it be your loved ones too recently or from years ago), singing by the Musical Bar, altars dedicated to recently deceased made by the Spanish classes, and at the end, pan dulce and chocolate to celebrate the holiday.   If you have time, we strongly encourage all the campus to join in the procession and to reflect on life, community, and family.  If you are running late and don’t see us outside the caf, we are in the Chapel.

Once again, muchas gracias!

OLAS
